I have been on a kick to listen to Les Miserables lately. last night when i was listening to the song Do You hear the People Sing I started to think of all that the song means. with some of the thinking i have beed doing on the idea of the kingdom of God this song seemed sudenly more relivent to me then it ever had been. and i reolized that this song could be seen as a rallying cry to waken Christians to see the world around them and remeber that they are not part of this world.
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
the people who are singing are like those who are longing for God's freedom. Those whom Jesus was talking about when he said the Fields are white for Harvest. when your heart beats after God and what God is doing in our world your heart becomes one of the drums in the war between the kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of God.
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!
this verse is like one christian who is living in the battle asking his brothers and sisters if they will join him. Lets face it there is a war going on around us a war between angles and Deamons over the souls of men. and because we are the children of God we are part of this Crusade. the question is will we be stronge to stand in the battle (at the barricade) to fight to see the kingdom come. Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!
Will you give all you can give
So that our banner may advance
Some will fall and some will live
Will you stand up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the meadows of France!
So that our banner may advance
Some will fall and some will live
Will you stand up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the meadows of France!
To join the battle front of this war is coastly. there have always been martyrs, there will always be martyrs. thier blood is the water of the church. so the question is are you willing to give all so that the banner of God may cover those who are not yet found in his fold?
